Development of Four Seasons Outdoor Classroom Program

As the appointed trustee, we offer the following vision: a conservation easement which provides open land or a forest with lakes, streams and springs, as an outdoor classroom. The program creates community involvement and produces excellent public relations for the green property owner. Youth will benefit from this unique and creative hands-on experience by learning the importance of conserving and protecting our ground waters for the future.

We work with two national organizations along with local and state agencies.

  • Project WET – Water Education for Teachers.  Project WET International, 1001 Oak Street, Bozeman, Montana projectwet.org

Trained facilitators from WET and local teachers are involved, formulating the curriculum and setting a time frame for the Outdoor Classroom program. The property owner has final approval on dates and times for the Outdoor Classroom Programs.

  • U.S. Geological Survey (USGS)

The USGS works with Marine Learning Institute through the reprinting and distribution of a proven educational program, the Water Resource Education Poster Program.  Through this partnership, approximately 50,000 posters on the topics of Water Use, Wetlands, and Water Quality have been made available to educators across the nation.
